On the morning of 20th of February, as the Sun rose to shine over the silver waters of Agara Lake, WoodenStreet’s Bengaluru team gathered up at its shores for a mission to make our environment cleaner, greener and healthier.

For long, the Silicon Valley has been the beating heart of the IT sector, leading India with its technological innovations and advancements. However, the environment has been taking a heavy toll as we advance to technological marvels for the future. To make sure that green remains the prominent marker even in the midst of technological revelations, Team WoodenStreet decided to take matters into their own hands.

Agara Lake has long been a centre of morning activity and is rich with biodiversity. The jogging trail that encircles the lake serves as a platform towards health and fitness in a town much populated with sedentary jobs. Hence, this lake was the perfect spot to increase the cover of green.

On 20th of February, our team from WoodenStreet’s Experience Store in HSR Layout was all set before the dawn broke, ready with their seeds, saplings and equipped with trowels to plant a better future.

Team WoodenStreet and the frequent visitors of the Agara lake joined hands together for the betterment of our environment. They came to the park to start their day with the fresh vibes and were more than happy to plant saplings and seeds with us.

For about two and a half hours, from 7 am to 9:30 am, we all worked together to beautify the park. We planted marigold and other flowering plants so that we can get a colourful and fresh ambiance.

“It’s really great to see a company be conscious about our environment. Corporate sectors should be responsible in the upliftment of not only the society but our planet as well. I hope WoodenStreet continues this activity for the better of all of us”, said Mr. Chandan Kumar, who is a frequent jogger and helped us in planting the saplings.

Team WoodenStreet is happy to raise awareness towards our environment and is thankful to everyone for being a part of the planting of a healthy tomorrow.

We, at Wooden Street, request all our readers to keep the environment clean and green. Start it from your surroundings as small things can make a big difference!
